Understanding the evidence

Market Confidence explains how strongly the data supports the estimate

A market value is more useful when you understand the quality and consistency of the evidence behind it.

What strengthens confidence

Market Confidence considers the available comparable sample and how consistently those prices cluster around the market average.

  • More relevant comparable vehicles
  • A tighter and more consistent price distribution
  • Recent market activity
  • Vehicle details that closely match the subject vehicle

What lower confidence means

Lower confidence does not mean the report has no value. It means the available evidence may be limited, unusually varied, or affected by differences among comparable vehicles. In those situations, the report range may be more informative than a single central estimate.

How to use confidence

Use stronger confidence as support for a firmer pricing position. When confidence is lower, leave more room for inspection findings, local market conditions, and negotiation.
